DescriptionIn oral products, (hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose is mainly used as a tablet binder, film coating agent and matrix for use in extended release tablet formulations. It is also used as a suspending agent and/or thickener in liquid oral dosage forms and topical preparations. It is also used in the manufacture of capsules, as an adhesive for plastic bandages and as a wetting agent for hard contact lenses.
